We are seeking a talented individual with expertise in mechanical design and development to drive innovation and contribute to our success.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design and Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert mechanical engineering support for process and product development projects, from pilot scale testing to commercialization.
  • Collaborating as a key member of project teams for Technology development and capital projects, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Acting as a liaison between projects and Process Development teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Taking charge of mechanical engineering aspects of capital projects, ensuring efficient and successful implementation.
  • Developing strategic plans for equipment design, scope, quoting, and modification, optimizing our current processes.
  • Identifying and implementing breakthrough processing technologies and cost reduction initiatives, driving efficiency and profitability.
  • Managing Technology maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance, shutdown activities, and regulatory compliance, ensuring smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in an industrial setting (advanced degree preferred).
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Practical knowledge of polymer processing machinery design, development, and operation, enabling you to make impactful contributions.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and hands-on experience with computer-controlled machining methods, empowering you to bring your ideas to life.
  • Familiarity with process control systems, particularly Delta V, allowing you to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear and effective collaboration.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to prioritize and execute assignments in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, driving results.
  • Willingness to travel to global Advanced Interlayers manufacturing sites and collaborate with external vendors, expanding your network and expertise.
