WHAT WE OFFER

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Plant Engineer to join our team at a small, yet crucial site. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day engineering operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting production issues, participating in general safety and process safety meetings, and being actively involved with the site's DCS (Distributed Control System) controls. Additionally, the candidate will lead root cause investigations to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our processes.

The primary responsibilities within the role include:

  • Oversee and manage the daily engineering activities at the site.

  • Ensure the efficient operation of all equipment and machinery.

  • Troubleshoot and address any technical issues that may arise promptly.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.

  • Implement and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance overall operational performance.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.

  • Regularly assess and update engineering processes to align with industry best practices.

  • Be actively involved in the site's DCS controls system.

  • Monitor and optimize control strategies to ensure optimal process performance.

  • Collaborate with control system engineers to implement upgrades and enhancements.

  • Lead root cause investigations for equipment failures, deviations, and incidents.

  • Develop and implement corrective actions based on investigation findings.

  • Work closely with the reliability team to improve equipment reliability and prevent recurring issues.

  • Actively participate in general safety meetings to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.

  • Contribute insights and recommendations to enhance overall workplace safety.

  • Collaborate with the safety team to implement and enforce safety protocols.

  • Lead and participate in health and safety activities at the site by providing input for PHAs / HAZOPs / etc.

  • Provides technology expert knowledge support for site daily operation.

WHAT YOU OFFER

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of experience in plant engineering in a manufacturing environment or a MS degree in Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency on Emerson's DeltaV Batch System or equivalent Distributed Controls System.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent, knowledge of chemical processes to effectively analyze, recommend, and make decisions.
  • Basic understanding and familiarity with standard site as-built drawings including electrical one-line diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Effective communication skills, practices active listening skills, able to communicate openly and effectively, providing timely and relevant feedback to facilitate appropriate actions by self and others.
  • Learns quickly when faced with new challenges and problems; detailed, analytical and solution driven and be open to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Can contribute in off-hour calls / call-ins.
