As a Project Director, need to lead the execution of large and complex projects and ensures that all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policies, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments. Supports the Local Division and Business Unit Managers in overseeing team development and process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure HSE (Health Safety and Environement) standard is fulfilled during project execution
  • Assure that each project stakeholder acts with highest level of professionalism and integrity
  • Lead the complex large projects in execution of all industrial complex solution projects in terms of the main contractual obligations' - i.e.full compliance with ABB code of conduct, the contract scope of supply, the agreed technical requirements, timely delivery and quality as well as achievement of the expected project profitability and cash collection
  • Leads project recovery efforts, i.e. the rapid assessment of troubled projects and their turnaround on behalf of the Local business line
  • Play a proactive role in problem prevention/solving during the project life cycle by promptly driving other departments in addressing issues highlighted by project team about potential areas of concern that could affect project flawless execution, customer experience and profitability
  • Acts as key contact for the customer and escalation point for project issues. Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate with all stakeholders
  • Deploying effective project containment strategies involving key stakeholders in opportune times, limiting escalation, and favoring an environment for issue resolution
  • Deploy a concise project risk management plan and assure project team drives mitigation actions
  • In collaboration with the contract manager, ensures a clear understanding of the project contractual requirements and drive strategy to resolve any outstanding contractual & commercial risks
  • Assure adequate revenue recognition process is in place and is properly executed. Provide monthly revenue forecasts to management and track forecasting performance in order to drive team improvements when needed
  • Actively drive cash collection with customers and internal stakeholders by removing any barriers to project cash timely collection. Assure account receivable review and tracking with project team to assure performance
  • Ensures that required procurement activities for services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers are performed by the assigned resource
  • Deploy adequate change management process and actions to assure business and customer interests are assured
  • Support cross-functional development teams to create, develop and maintain project management processes and procedures
  • Be a positive leader for the organization that inspires engagement vs compliance
  • Responsible and accountable for project revenue financial performance
Your background

  • BS Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operational and/or customer facing commercial roles
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous management experience preferred
  • PMP certification
  • Lean six sigma certifications
  • Other languages are an attribute
  • Proven capability in working in a technical environment (electrical distribution sector)
  • Strong & inspiring communication skills
  • Strong and proven strategical abilities pertaining to project directing
  • Has a customer centric behavior and can deal with complex customers and meet specific requirements when needed. Strives for achieving the Project goals and Customer satisfaction
  • Available to travel up to 25% domestic, international occasionally
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
