The Buyer will represent the company for assigned acquisition of parts, supplies, goods, materials and services required to assure on-time deliveries for the company's production line as well as on-time delivery for company's parts and service departments.

  • Procure all raw material (forgings, castings, bar stock, plate) for the Enfield facility.
  • Monitor ERP/MRP data inputs/outputs
  • Build demand on Epicor
  • Order and track Kanban related supplies / materials
  • Order MRO's and job materials as assigned
  • Document retention and retrieval, general related administrative duties supporting Supply Chain
  • Supplier commitment dates vs. PO line need. Communicate, track and update in Epicor
  • Schedules for released jobs in Epicor
  • Lead time updates for assigned product in Epicor
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding schedule, order support and requirement changes
  • Expediting / problem resolution regarding incoming material and shipments
  • Meet or visit suppliers as required.
  • Implement cost saving projects as assigned. Develop cost savings ideas.
  • Supplier score card oversight and upkeep
  • Assist the Sales / Engineering department with new product quotations / estimates
  • Initiate and implement lean SOS initiatives for Supply Chain. Participate in cross functional events.
  • Must be able to sustain a fast paced work load with inputs from several functional groups.
Position Requirements
  • 3-5 years' related work experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related degree preferred
  • ASCM / CSCP / CPIM certification is a plus
  • Epicor knowledge is a plus
