Are you passionate about safety, skilled in teaching and training, and committed to creating positive change? We're seeking a Safety Technician to join our team in Iowa City. If you have experience in identifying and addressing unsafe behavior, implementing effective safety processes, and leading change initiatives collaboratively, we want to hear from you! As a servant-style leader, you'll have the opportunity to engage, inspire, and lead by example while promoting a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance: Assist in maintaining compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including OSHA guidelines. Conduct facility risk assessments and engage members on equipment safety.
Training and Development: Collaborate with leadership to deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels. Identify and address safety concerns to create improvements.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute ideas for improving safety processes and procedures. Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in safety management.
Incident Investigation: Participate in incident investigations to determine root causes and implement preventive measures. Document findings and recommendations for corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Safety Culture Promotion: Actively promote a culture of safety throughout the organization by organizing safety awareness campaigns, recognition programs, and other initiatives to engage employees in safety-related activities.
Data Management: Maintain accurate records of safety training sessions, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions. Analyze safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • 2 or more years of experience in manufacturing role with a safety focus in lieu of degree
