Analyze blueprints and engineering drawings to determine dimensions of parts and configuration or patterns and cuts for proper machining and fabrication of parts including:
Calculate radii of simple and complex irregular curves using computer assist
Create simple and complex patterns and parts using CAD/CAM program
Establish optimum path and maximum use of materials and tooling including location of tool set point, starting point and cutter change points
Prepare programs, set-up directions and instruction for CNC operators (including step-by-step directions for movement of machine cutter, change-point in three dimensional coordinates and data, machine cutting parameters, laser power, cutting gas types and pressure settings)
Verify and edit code generation for accuracy and efficiency; maintain and update code files
For some machines, transform two-dimensional drawings into three-dimensional objects for machining
For some machines, transform three-dimensional objects into flat pattern parts for fabrication
Pending plant location, operate burn table or laser table as needed
Act, live, and behave by TCF Core Values
Other duties as assigned
