Job Description
Vaco Boston is working with a specialty manufacturer to place a Payroll & Benefits Accountant to join the team and liaise between HR, Operations, and Finance functions. This position will focus on accounting activities that support benefits, payroll, and tax compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Accountability for ensuring payroll taxes and reports to federal, state, and local agencies are accurate
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve issues, conduct payroll audits and ensure compliance.
  • Provide insight and back-up support to ensure payroll is processed accurately on a timely basis
  • Audit / verify processing of statutory reporting and compliance filings to ensure accuracy, compliance and timeliness.
  • Prepare, review and approve the general ledger entries and present financial reports on a monthly basis adhering to month end closing deadlines.
  • Prepare and deliver payroll cycle finance reports to each site finance manager.
  • Work collaboratively across teams
  • Forecast and calculate actual benefits fringe rate. Responsible for monitoring, reviewing and calculating fringe benefits activity and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with benefits department to understand medical costs on benefits, and to develop and monitor benefits spending for reporting.
  • Support accounting needs via AP and HR functions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, HR, or similar.
  • 3+ years relevant work experience a similar role, preferable acting as a liaison between accounting and HR functions.
  • Microsoft Office, focus on Excel
  • Experience with full cycle payroll, tax functions, and benefits.
